Washington State has one of the most robust incentives in the market. If one uses "made in Washington solar panels and inverters" WA is paying $0.54 a kwh capped at $5000.00 a year until 2020. http://dsireusa.org/incentives/incentive.cfm?Incentive_Code=WA27F&re=0&ee=0 If one uses out of state products they still receive $0.15 a kwh also capped at $5000 a year. In order to capture the maximum amount the size of the system is about 8-9 KW size system for in WA made panels and inverters and 20 kw for non WA panels and inverters. This virtually means that Washington state is paying for your solar system over a 5 year period. Add to that the 30% Federal tax credit and the net metering benefit and the end user is actually making several thousand dollars for installing solar.
